Albuoystown man injured in and hit run accident

ROSHIC Khan of Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) bleeding profusely from a deep puncture to his right lower leg, sustained when he was struck down by a hit and run motor cyclist in James Street, Albuoystown on Thursday.The 39-year-old Mayor and City Council (M&CC) employee was standing at the roadside when the motorist ploughed into him before speeding away.

A mobile police patrol was passing through the area when the incident occurred, and this caused the motorist to abandon his bike and flee on foot.

The police took possession of the cycle and rushed the injured man to hospital.

The victim’s distraught mother, Radha Khan, who rushed down to the hospital on receiving word of her son’s accident, said she had received word on what had happened to her son at about 04:40 hrs, and on arriving at the hospital, she found her son with a gaping wound to his leg.

Roshic also suffered injuries to his head, and his left shoulder is suspected to be fractured.
