QUINCY Letlow was Wednesday sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment and fined $50,000 when he pleaded guilty to stealing Verona Melville’s two silver chains, each valued at $35,000., on Sunday, February 23, at Vlissengen Road, Georgetown.
The 27-year-old welder and father of two of Lot 13 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown apologised for his actions before Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond, and said he wanted the case to be concluded.
Police Corporal Jomo Nichols, prosecuting, said that on the day in question, at about 20:00 hrs, the virtual complainant was standing on the road when the defendant relieved her of the articles. He added that Letlow is a repeat offender.
