GFF/Banks Beer Premier League – Lanferman is leading goal scorer, Alpha United heading points table

DEN Amstel’s Delon Lanferman with six goals to his name is the leading goal scorer to date in the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF)/Banks Beer National Premier League, while Alpha United heads the points standing with 12 points.Lanferman is followed by Guyana Defence Force’s (GDF) Delwin Fraser and Buxton United’s Clive Andries with four goals each.
Alpha United’s Anthony `Awo’ Abrams, Den Amstel’s Jeffrey Perreira, Santos’ Michael PedroRosignol United’s Delroy Fraser, Milerock’s Clarence huggins, Grove hi-Tech’s Derwin garnette and BK Western Tigers’ Hubert Pedro all have three goals to their names.
To date 90 goals have been scored in the competition with of the 16 participating teams playing four matches each to date.
There are seven players from the 16 teams who have scored two goals each, while another 40 have registered one goal each.
In the points standing, Alpha United with four victories from as many matches, stays ahead of their closest rivals Guyana Defence Force (11 points from four matches, they won three while the other was drawn, but they however won on penalty kicks).
Riddim Squad has eight points to their name with two victories, one loss and one drawn game which they went on to win in the penalty shoot-out.
Five teams (Buxton United, Rosignol United, BV/Triumph, Milerock and BK Western Tigers) are on seven points after four matches.
Buxton United has won two of their matches, drawn one and lost the other, while Rosignol United has won one, drawn two which they won in the penalty shoot-out and lost the other.
Den Amstel is next in the points standing with six points from four matches. They won two, lost one and drew the other but lost in the resulting penalty shoot-out.
Mahaica Determinators, Grove Hi-Tech and Santos all have five points each from their four matches. Mahaica Determinators has won one match, lost one and drawn two which they also lost in the penalty shoot-out.
Grove Hi-Tech has won one match, lost two and drew the other which they subsequently won in the penalty shoot-out.
Santos on the other hand has not won a match, but they drew three of them, two of which they went on to win in the penalty shoot-out. They lost their other encounter.
Three teams (Silver Shattas, Winners Connection and New Amsterdam United) are on three points each from their four completed matches as all three of them has won one game and lost three.
Sitting at the bottom of the table is Young Achievers who is still to win or draw a game after four outings.
The winner of the League will receive %3M, while the runner up will collect $2M.
The third and fourth place teams will be rewarded with $1M and $500,000 respectively.
