NOT so long ago, our Diamond Girl, Katherina Roshana, winged out to Moscow to represent us at the international level of the Miss Universe beauty pageant, after winning the Miss Guyana Universe title here at the local leg of the pageant hosted at the Pegasus Hotel.

In Moscow, Katherina’s rare sparkle from her ‘diamond personality’ continues to mesmerize and amaze her fellow contestants and everyone else she has had the opportunity to interact with.

Katherina was thronged by Guyanese, Americans and other citizens for autographs and photographs while at the John F Kennedy International Airport.

In Guyana, the beauty queen had stirred up quite a storm, and had received tremendous support from her many fans.

And to top things off, Katherina has been awarded the prize for ‘Miss Best Head Shot’ during the many photo shoots and appearances she has made since in Russia. WAY TO GO GIRL!!!

Most of her supporters in Guyana and around the world actually expect this Miss Guyana Universe contestant to create an international upset and bring pride to Guyana and the Caribbean.

Katherina said in a video, posted on her Facebook Page while leaving New York, that she is empowered to do this for her country, because of the people and the overwhelming support she has been given.

Last week, the Miss Universe Organisation announced the seven preliminary judges for the 2013 MISS UNIVERSE® Competition, billed for this coming Tuesday, begins at 10pm MSK. The preliminary competition showcases each of the 86 Miss Universe contestants as they compete in swimwear and evening wear. The event will be streamed LIVE on http://www.missuniverse.com from Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia.

The 2013 MISS UNIVERSE® Fan Vote, sponsored by High 5 Games, was launched on October 28, and is open until Friday (November 8). During this time, fans will be able to rate the 2013 Miss Universe contestants. Fans with a valid email address can vote for their favourite contestant at http://www.missuniverse.com or http://www.telemundo.com.

The winning contestant will earn a spot in the semi-finals. The competition will air next Saturday at 9 pm ET on NBC. The worldwide event will take place at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia.

This November, “Crowning Moment” will debut exclusively on High 5 Casino as the first slot game, stemming from a partnership with the Miss Universe Organisation.

This Super Stacks game will feature real images and videos of the crowning moments, from prior Miss Universe® Competitions, as well as a mystery symbol to represent the 2013 titleholder, which will be updated to reflect Miss Universe® 2013 shortly after her crowning moment.
