Chief Justice grants $7.1M bail to 18 petitioners

CHIEF Justice Ian Chang, SC, on Tuesday granted bail in the total sum of $6.5M to 17 petitioners pending the hearing of their cases, which included narcotics and trafficking in persons.

Particulars are as follows:
For possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, Brian Matthews was granted $850,000 bail; John Nedd was granted $700,000; Michelle Fernandes, $250,000 bail; Martin Christopher Northe, $500,000 bail; Huntley Layne, $250,000 bail; Anand Prashad, $500,000 bail; Pradesh Persaud, $100,000 bail; Adrian David, $750,000 bail; Seenarine Singh, $500,000 bail, and Anthony Primo, $100,000 bail.

For trafficking in persons, Paridia Crossman was granted $1,000,000 bail; and for possession of ammunition, John Nedd was granted $150,000 bail.

For possession of firearm and ammunition, Kalicharran Persaud, Anthony Primo and Seenarine Singh were each granted $150,000 bail.

For malicious damage to property, Elroy Giles was granted $300,000 bail, and for robbery under arms, Albertha Primo was granted $400,000 bail, whilst Raymond La Fleur was granted $300,000 bail.
