Former national footballer dies at 81

Former national Footballer Albert Barton passed away Monday last at the age of 81 in Georgetown after returning home on vacation from Canada .

Barton who lived at Bent Street in Georgetown before migrating to North America and was referred to as T’berts in his playing days, represented Guyana in the late 50s and early 60s as a right centre back.
Barton turned out  for Victoria FC, YMCA FC and Juicy FC  on the local scene and was employed at John Fernandes Ltd.
