Former national cyclists Bruce Camacho and Aubrey Gordon pedalled to podium places at the just-concluded World Masters Games which was held in Turin,from August 2-11, 2013.
Camacho who lives in Canada secured gold in the 65-plus Criterium and silver in the 65-plus Road Race, while the US-based Gordon, the defending champion, took bronze in the 55-plus Criterium, but suffered a crash in the Road Race. Another Guyanese cyclist, Cecil Bernard, also participated but he did not get into the winners row.

Meanwhile, for this eighth World Masters Games, the Guyana Cycling Association of North America (GCANA) made a monetary contribution to the cyclists to assist them during their stay in Italy.
Gordon in his preparation for the World Masters had made two trips to Guyana to utilise the good weather and also to take part in the Three-Stage Road Race in May.
The World Masters Games are the most important world sporting event for sports-people over 30 and involve a number of participants four times higher than a summer edition of the Olympic Games.
It is not a competition between nations but between people, although it is possible to form teams with athletes of different nationality.
