Region 3 works progressing on schedule –adequate financing available

WORKS in Region 3 (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara) have been moving quite smoothly and on schedule as well, according to Region 3 Regional Democratic Council Chairman, Julius Faerber in an interview with this publication yesterday.

altHe noted that, thus far, adequate financing is available to commence the projects which were advertised in the media prior to commencement.
He explained that the 2013 programme targets the key developmental elements of the communities, such as health, education, agriculture, drainage and irrigation, maintenance of buildings and roads, and public works, among other infrastructure.
He explained that a lot of effort would be expended to ensure that the works are properly done, and asserted that projects aimed at enhancing the education sector of the region include maintenance of school buildings as well as extensions, and adequately furnishing the schools which are in need.
He said that drainage and irrigation in Region 3 is being closely monitored, and various projects have been advertised to assist in improving the drainage of the region.
He pointed out that in areas where works would have been stalled, the equipment would have been taken in by the authorities for maintenance, and works will resume shortly.
