HEAD of the E-Government Guyana Project, Mr. Alexei Ramotar held fruitful discussions with the Minister of Youth and Information Communication Technology (ICT) of Rwanda, Jean Philbert Nsengimana.
Guyana and Rwanda share similar programmes and initiatives in the area of information communication technology. Rwanda has a one laptop per child programme and a government owned fibre optic centre with the hope of an ICT industry.
Mr. Ramotar, in discussion with the Rwandan Minister, benefitted from advice and support in making Rwanda a knowledge based economy.
Mr. Ramotar is part of a team currently in Rwanda to share experience and information towards the enhanced efforts of Guyana to Manage Solid Waste, Protected Areas Management, E-Governance and ideas for Poverty and Environment Initiatives.
