Duo granted $100,000 bail each over kitchen utensils theft

Two men who allegedly stole a quantity of kitchen utensils valued $170,000 from an Albouystown resident appeared yesterday before Magistrate Judy Latchman on a simple larceny charge.

Alwen Fiffee, 31, (no address given) and Everett Rodney, 31, of Lot 28 Vigilance, East Coast Demerara, pleaded not guilty to separate  charges after the Administrative of Justice Act (AJA) was applied. Both Fiffee and Rodney were granted bail in the sum of $100,000 each.
The prosecution stated that between February 11, and May 5, at Lot 157 Non Pareil Street, Albouystown, they stole a quantity of kitchen utensils worth $170,000, property of Debra Bowman.
Fiffee told the court that the virtual complainant (VC) was trying to forge a relationship with him. According to the accused, she had him in her bedroom trying to kiss him, but he refused. He also alleged that the VC told him if he did not allow this she would frame him for something.
