Kohli and Unadkat star as Challengers edge Daredevils

A SPARKLING 99 off 58 balls from Virat Kohli helped the Royal Challengers Bangalore to a narrow four-run victory over the Delhi Daredevils as Jaydev Unadkat took five Delhi wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadum in Delhi.

Morne Morkel and Irfan Pathan threatened the unlikeliest of victories as the Daredevils almost knocked off the 51 they required from the final three overs but the Challengers held on to squeak home.
The Daredevils won the toss and chose to field and it appeared to be the right decision as Irfan Pathan bowled danger man Chris Gayle for just four. And when Cheteshwar Pujara went shortly after, the Daredevils were on top early on.
But Kohli had other ideas and dispatched the bowling to all parts of the ground before running himself out one shy of what would have been a deserved century as the Challengers closed on 183 from their 20 overs.
Despite Kohli’s knock, it still looked a very makeable target but Unadkat removed both Mahela Jayawardene and Virender Sehwag early to swing the advantage back the way of the Challengers.
Unmukt Chand threatened a revival with 41 from 35 balls but left Morkel and Pathan with just too much to do in a thrilling finish.
The result keeps the Challengers in with a good chance of reaching the knockout stages but the Daredevils remain one place above bottom-placed Pune. (Eurosport)
