PLEASE publish this letter in your informative newspaper for me and many thanks for doing so, which will meet the approval of Lethem residents.
Carl Parker’s letter in the Kaieteur News of Monday, April 22, which claimed that his life is being threatened is nothing but a hoax. The point here is that Parker is simply sending a message that he is someone of importance, which he is not. Many residents at Lethem are asking the question, is Parker worth killing?
Parker, an old PNC thug and an APNU Regional Councillor, is a white elephant
on the Region 9 RDC, since he does absolutely nothing for the development of The Rupununi region. All that Parker does is write misleading letters against the RDC and the government to the pro-opposition media rags which are happy to publish sewage directed against the government. Yes, we do have press freedom in Guyana. Under the Burnham dictatorship the opposition media rags would have been dead meat.
Parker claimed in his letter that “My landlord was accosted by a businessman and was rudely asked why he decided to rent me the house.” The question to the landlord by the businessman was a relevant one since it is known in the Rupununi that Parker does not pay his house rents. But the landlord will soon realise his mistake and the importance of the question put to him by the businessman. Parker owes rent to a landlord in Lethem, St. Ignatius and Tabatinga. In fact, he owes the NDC complex rental fees for holding classes there and I am appealing to the IMC to seek the assistance of the RDC for the recovery of such rental fees from the allowances he receives from being a Regional Councillor. Moreover, those landlords who have not received their rents from Parker must launch a complaint to Parker’s party, APNU, in Georgetown.
It is grossly unfair for landlords in the Rupununi to rent their houses to Parker and not receive their rental fees. Parker’s game is, suddenly removing from the house he rents without paying his rental debts to ‘rent’ another house in Lethem. This is Parker’s con-game in the rental of houses in The Rupununi which must be stopped. Those with houses in The Rupununi to rent therefore must not rent to Parker.
Parker claims in his letter that “There was a centrally orchestrated plan to ruin me. “The architects of that plan have succeeded somewhat. They have made me virtually penniless. All I am left with is my pride, my intellect and my life; and I will defend those ruthlessly.” Parker is more a liability to the state rather than an asset ever since. His corrupt values are responsible for his ‘penniless’ state and is now throwing the blame on others. How dishonest is Parker seeking to attract sympathies and charity from the Rupununi people. Parker claims he has ‘pride and intellect” which is a bogus claim on his part. The fact is, if Parker had these qualities, he would have had a fixed place of abode in the Rupununi, but certainly he has none. Since he is renting houses without paying rental fees how disgraceful; unfortunately for Parker and his “intellect”, God’s power of retribution has now closed in on him which requires him ‘to be born again’ within the shortest possible time for the avoidance of hell-fire.
