THE police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 16.00hrs yesterday on the Madewini Public Road, East Bank Demerara, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Albert Yarris, 59, of Hyde Park, Timehri.

Investigations revealed that the driver of motor car PRR 4157 overtook a minibus that was turning, on the inside and struck down the pedal cyclist who was proceeding in the same direction. Albert Yarris was pronounced dead on arrival at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.
The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
