Police Inspector Mohammed Ali was killed on the spot in an accident yesterday afternoon on the Railway Embankment Road at Strathspey, on the East Coast Demerara.
Two other policemen were injured in the accident which occurred around 18:00hrs. They are Corporal Roland Beharry and Constable Curtis Europe.
They have been admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Ali’s wife and daughter were at the hospital last evening, but they were not allowed to see his body.
Reports say the car the policemen were travelling in fell into a rut and crashed into a bridge.
