F&M renews RHTYSC Under-15 Team sponsorship for 17th year

THE longstanding and highly successful relationship between Guyana’s leading youth and sports club, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) and the Georgetown-based Farfan and Mendes Limited was on Thursday last renewed for the 17th successive year. The Urquhart Street-based business entity handed over a cheque worth $200 000 as sponsorship of the club’s Under-15 Team for this year, at their head office.
Long-serving Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster in accepting the cheque from Marketing Officer of the Company, Deylon Josiah, hailed the relationship between the two entities as unique and special.
The company, which became the official sponsor of the team in 1992, has invested millions of dollars which resulted in 11 national Under-15 players, 43 for Berbice and one for the West Indies, coupled with four Berbice Under-15 championships.
Players produced by the Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes Under-15 team include Assad Fudadin, Royston Crandon, Delbert Hicks, Abdel Fudadin, Shawn Pereira and Dominique Rikhi and for the past two years, the team won the last two Berbice Under-15 titles.
Over the last 16 years, they have completed a total of over 400 personal development programmes under the headings of Charity, Pro-education, Anti-drugs, Cricket Development, Youth Development and Community Development.
Foster expressed gratitude to the Management of the company for their continued confidence in the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club and pledged that the Under-15 team would uphold their usual high standard over the coming years.
Farfan and Mendes Marketing Manager, Onai Vasconcellos, said his company was pleased to be associated with the club as it has successfully promoted the company’s brand.
The Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes Under-15 team has started its preparation for the Berbice Cricket Board Tenelec Inc. Tournament which commenced last year, under the captaincy of Daniel Lewis with Brandon Prashad as his deputy while Patrick Lewis will serve as manager and Michael Hyles Franco as head coach.
