JOSEPH George (no address given) was remanded to prison on Tuesday, when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daley on a robbery charge.
It was alleged that the defendant robbed Mohanie Itwaroo of a gold chain valued $70,000, on January 14, in Georgetown.
George pleaded not guilty and Police Prosecutor Vernettè Pindar successfully objected to bail, pointing out that the defendant recently served six months imprisonment for a similar offence.
But the stolen article was found on the defendant when he was apprehended.
However, the magistrate refused George bail and sent him on remand until January 31.
