EDWARD Persaud (no address given) was refused bail by Magistrate Leron Daley yesterday, after he pleaded not guilty to being in possession of a firearm and ammunition without licence. Particulars of the January 3 offence said he had a single barrel 16-gauge shotgun and six matching cartridges without being the holder of a firearm licence.
Police Corporal Vinetta Pindar, prosecuting, asked that the defendant be remanded to prison since no special reasons for bail were advanced.
The request was granted and the defendant will return to Court on January 14.
