THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday announced that with effect from December 27, 2012, the Guyana Police Force delinked the Police ‘E&F’ Division. ‘E’ Division basically comprises Linden, Kwakwani, Ituni, Aroaima and Mabura, and the Divisional Commander is Senior Superintendent Owen Trotz, who is based at Linden.
‘F’ Division comprises the interior locations and the Divisional Commander is Senior Superintendent Courtney Ramsey, who is based at Rabbit Walk, Eve Leary.
‘E’ and ‘F’ Divisions were merged following discussions at the Annual Police Officers’ Conference in 1992, with the consideration at that time being that the gateway to the interior was through Linden.
However, the dynamics of ‘E&F’ Division have changed considerably since then, especially with the recent significant developmental and economic activities taking place and the concomitant shift in population. G
Cognisant of the prevailing environment, the Force has now separated the Division to allow for greater focus on the challenges of the respective Divisions and the more effective utilization of available resources.
