Larceny defendant with similar cases pending remanded

KEVIN Bourne (no address given) was remanded to prison, by Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, on a robbery under arms charge.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on December 8, at 111 Miles, Mahdia, Potaro, being armed with a knife, he robbed Joseph Marco of $40,000.
Police Corporal Vinetta Pindar, prosecuting, said the defendant approached the virtual complainant with the weapon and demanded that he hand over his belongings.
The prosecutor, stating that Marco complied and handed the money to Bourne, objected to bail for the latter and informed the court that he has similar cases pending.
Bourne was refused pre-trial freedom until January 16, 2013.
