Windies, SA women clash to raise curtain on CT20 Finals

ST JOHN’S, Antigua (CMC) – West Indies Women and South Africa Women will clash in two Twenty20 Internationals that will serve as a precursor to the finals of the Caribbean Twenty20 in St Lucia next month. The two T20s form part of South Africa’s tour of the Caribbean which includes five One-Day Internationals.
According to a West Indies Cricket Board release on Tuesday, the two T20s will be played on January 19 and 20, the respective dates for the playoffs and grand final of the CT20.
The tour bowls off January 7 with the opening ODI at Warner Park in St Kitts, with the second match scheduled for the same venue two days later. Windsor Park in Dominica will host the three other ODIs on January 12, 13 and 15.
“This series is part of the ongoing preparations for the Women’s World Cup in February,” said WICB Project Officer for Women’s Cricket, Josina Luke.
“This week the ladies are finishing up a gruelling four-week camp in Barbados and have been progressing nicely with their development. South Africa are a competitive team who will test the Windies Women just before they travel to Asia for the World Cup.”
West Indies will do battle in Group A of the tournament, scheduled to run from January 28 to February 17 in India.
They are scheduled to raise the curtain on the tournament with a clash against hosts India.

January 7: First ODI – Warner Park, St Kitts
January 9: Second ODI – Warner Park, St Kitts
January 12: Third ODI – Windsor Park, Dominica
January 13: Fourth ODI – Windsor Park, Dominica
January 15: Fifth ODI – Windsor Park, Dominica
January 19: First T20I – Beausejour Cricket Ground, St Lucia
January 20: Second T20I – Beausejour Cricket Ground, St Lucia.
