Alliance for Change (AFC) Councillor on the Region 2 Democratic Council, Archie Cordis, has tendered his resignation as a member of two sub- committees of the council. A letter read by the Clerk of the Council, Sunil Singh, just as the statutory meeting for December commenced Tuesday morning, said the very active councillor would no longer be a member of the Local Government, Cooperative and Works Committees.

The letter stated that the councillor was pleased to serve on both commitees for the past eleven months, as he contributed towards the development of Region 2. During the meeting, the AFC councillor at times hinted that the meeting might be his last. Region 2 Vice Chariman, Vishnu Samaroo, said Cordis has served very well as a member of both sub committees and the Regional Democratic Council. Samaroo said the councillor is always proactive.
