OF recent, one cannot help but notice the proliferation of lies and distortions of the truth by the letter-writing duo Asquith Rose and Harish Singh. In their most recent offering, their dishonesty persists by suggesting that the Alliance For Change (AFC) cannot be blamed for the recklessness in Parliament. Indeed, this is an awkward position for the duo to adopt since Guyanese everywhere are aware and convinced that the recklessness in Parliament is because of APNU and the AFC who have and continue to misuse their one-seat majority in Parliament. Their plans and intentions are to undo, stymie and destabilise the government’s development programme.
From the commencement of the 10th Parliament, APNU/AFC collaborated to violate the Constitution, Standing Orders, parliamentary norms, practices and conventions and they remain inseparable in their quest to take us backwards. Most of what they have done using the strength of their one-seat majority has been either illegal or improper.
It is their one-seat majority which is responsible for the recklessness in Parliament which is being orchestrated and condoned by Speaker Raphael Trotman who himself is a co-founder of the AFC.
It is not strange that Asquith Rose and Harish Singh are the only ones who believe the source of all the uproar in Parliament is anything other than the APNU/AFC players.
