A MAN was yesterday sentenced to three years imprisonment and fined $75,000 for being in possession of a Taurus pistol and matching ammunition.
Gregory Payne (no address given) appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that, on November 17, he had a .32 Taurus pistol along with nine live rounds, without being the holder of a firearm licence.
Payne admitted, to the court, that he was in possession of the articles and claimed he bought the gun and ammunition from a man in Albouystown.
