CRICKET action in the fourth annual Guyana Police Force (GPF) Inter-division T20 tournament is set to continue today with two more matches at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary. From 09:00hrs this morning, the Officers’ lineup, led by Vishal Jaigobin with support from Philbert Azore and Wendell Blahnum, will take on ‘C’ Division, who will be looking to Jermaine Pindell and Christopher Davidson to see them past their opponents and into the semifinals.
The second contest for the day pits a Trevor Benn, Quintyn Sugrim and Jamal Thomas-led ‘E’ and ‘F’ Division, against the Kwesi Readon, Newton Parris and Dennis Forde-led ‘G’ Division lineup from 13:00hrs.
Defending champions for the tournament Headquarters, a team who have won the tournament on all three occasions, started their defence in fine style with an impressive eight-wicket victory over ‘B’ Division at the same venue last Wednesday.
