REALLY – the PNCR strongly condemns and completely refutes the supposed baseless and malicious allegations made against the opposition by a Guyana Chronicle article.

The Editor rightly asked that they show where what was written was basically untrue. The opposition has been guilty of the same things they accuse the Editor of doing, without the accompanying proof. They have been the poster child of divisiveness and racist undertones. They constantly push the idea that any problems that their supporters encounter in their lives are entirely due to the government’s bias against a certain ethnic group, and favour for another. In their world, individual responsibility or factors beyond the government’s control do not exist.

Their primary actions since the elections were to show the government was corrupt, biased and incompetent, with little proof. Their remedy to their charges is to cut certain budget items and support street protests, instead of pursuing talks with government to “correct” the policies or projects that they are complaining about. Their actions make any legitimate concern less likely to be given the attention and support it needs or deserves. It is time for the opposition to face reality and change direction.
