THE policeman charged with the murder of Agricola youth Shaquille Grant made his third court appearance yesterday, before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
But the start of the preliminary inquiry (PI) was postponed, again, as the other two accused, Corporal Warren Blue and Special Constable Jamal Lewis, on the joint charge with Terrence Wallace have not yet been arrested.
When the case was called on the previous occasion, the magistrate had advised the prosecution to be prepared to sever the charge and proceed with the (PI) against Wallace only.
However, the magistrate said, yesterday, it is a waste of judicial time to conduct different (PIs) in the case and put off the case until November 28.
The last time Wallace appeared, a group of angry Agricola residents protested in front of the court, accusing the police of giving special treatment to the lone accused who was presented.
The protesters blocked the prison van from leaving with Wallace demanding that he show his face.
When he was taken to court yesterday, no protesters were seen and, to avoid any recurrence, the police barricaded in front of the court.
Only the mother of the deceased was present inside the courtroom.
