A MAN has been detained after police found an unlicensed gun in his possession at Sulphur Landing, Cuyuni River.

The arrest was made on Sunday, about 13:30 hrs, when ranks conducted a search on the suspect. He also had three matching rounds for the 9mm pistol, police said.
Meanwhile, police reported that, about 07:10 hrs on Tuesday, the Mahaicony Post Office, at East Coast Demerara, was found to have been burglarised.
Both safes were opened, one having been cut and the padlock from the other removed but no money was missing.
Investigations are in progress.
