Helicopter service welcomed by natural resources stakeholders

THE Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment and the various sector agencies has joined in congratulating Air Services Limited on the commissioning of its Bell 206L-4 Helicopter yesterday which will boost logistics for stakeholders within the natural resources sectors and hinterland communities.

It is anticipated that the operation of the Bell 206L-4 Helicopter will provide an opportunity to all stakeholders within the mining, forest and environmental sectors to have more access to mining properties and forest concessions to aid in the expansion and sustainability of the natural resources sectors.
Further, the ministry said the operation of this Helicopter service by ASL comes at an opportune time when the mining sector has witnessed increasing interest in gold mining as the price for gold currently exceeds US$1,700 per ounce. With increasing mining and forest operations, the regulatory agencies of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment will utilise the services of the helicopter to increase monitoring and access to some remote hinterland areas.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment said it would like to encourage all stakeholders within the natural resources sector to take advantage of this opportunity and utilize this service to improve the efficiency of their operations.
