Forty-four-year old Nazam Ally of Douchfour, East Coast Demerara, was Thursday granted bail in the sum of $40,000 upon facing an assault charge. He had appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ally at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court, but was not required to plead to the indictable charge, particulars of which stated that on Monday 17 September, he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm to his son-in-law, Peter Small.
Police Persecutor Clement Roberts had no objections to bail being granted to the defendant, and Ally was then released on bail by presiding Magistrate Zamilla Ally.
He has to make another appearance on October 3, 2012.
