Mr. KEITH Burrowes has been appointed Adviser to President Donald Ramotar with responsibility for financial issues.
Mr. Burrowes currently is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Guyana National Newspapers Limited (GNNL) among other responsibilities.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat (HPS), Dr. Roger Luncheon made the announcement at his weekly post-Cabinet media briefing at Office of the President yesterday, confirming that President Ramotar had issued instructions to that effect.
Dr. Luncheon disclosed that Mr. Burrowes is highly skilled and experienced in the field of financial management.
“As you know he, among other responsibilities, chairs the board of Directors of GOINVEST and he is also the head of the Health Sector Development Unit (HSDU) both of which agencies rely considerably on his skill and experience in financial management,” he said.
Burrowes, he said, will undertake the assignment to President Ramotar without reducing his involvement in other areas.
Dr. Luncheon clarified that Burrowes had assumed this additional responsibility under a pro bono terms and condition. That is without any recompense.
He disclosed: “Burrowes services to the President and by extension to the people of Guyana through the Office of the President, is voluntary, without pay.”
