POLICE have detained a man following an armed robbery committed at Meadow Brook Gardens, Georgetown on Wednesday night last after the victim and the police pursued him the suspect following the incident. Police reported that at about 21:00 hrs on Wednesday Floyd Rawlins, 19, of Tucville, Georgetown was on the roadway at Meadow Brook Gardens, Georgetown when he was held up by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
The men took away Floyd Rawlins’s gold chain, and escaped on two bicycles. They were pursued by the victim in his motor vehicle, who was joined by a police mobile patrol that was in the vicinity; and one of the perpetrators was apprehended.
The stolen gold chain and a .38 revolver with five rounds were recovered by the police.
The man is in police custody and charges will be laid shortly.
