THE Grant A Dream foundation made a donation of $500,000 to the Help and Shelter organisation at the Conference Room of the Shelter on Homestretch Avenue last Thursday.
The Grant A Dream foundation, with its mandate to provide better quality living for various charitable organizations, held a “scavenger hunt” around Georgetown last Saturday, sponsored by Digicel and ANSA McAL, as a means of acquiring funds.
The “scavenger hunt” attracted an unexpectedly large turnout of very eager citizens, resulting in the Grant a Dream foundation garnering substantial funds.
The Grant a Dream team comprised Dominique Dias, Chelsea Fung, Alana and Briony Tiwarie, Carl Shivraj, Jamal Douglas and Ryan Kirton, all of whom are dedicated to making the world a better place through their very timely actions.
The Grant a Dream foundation is committed to doing whatever it takes to improve the quality of life of individuals, children, families and communities, by eliminating barriers to opportunity and helping people in need for the sake of alleviating poverty.
The Help and Shelter organisation had sent out a request for assistance from the group, and this was granted.

Help and Shelter has, for quite a number of years, been helping and counselling women and children who have been abused and mistreated.
Since its inception, thousands of persons have benefited from this organisation, and the management and board of directors welcome donations of any sort, which may assist the victims living there.
Help and Shelter has reached out to almost 37,000 people in total, both directly and indirectly, with the aid of leaflets, posters and radio and television public service announcements.
Help and Shelter urges more groups and individuals to get involved in charitable events, to assist the organisation in their need for more funding.
Help and shelter promises to publicly acknowledge any such assistance received from any member or organisation to help the victims it houses.
