Canal 6 win Jeet brothers New York dominoes tourney

CANAL 6 took top honours in the Jeet Brothers of New York-sponsored three-way Dominoes Tournament played last Saturday in Canal Number One, featuring top playing teams such as International 6 and Wild Bunch. In the first round which was played at Strikers Sports Club last Thursday, Canal 6 led the way with 74 games ahead of Wild Bunch and International 6 who accumulated 70 and 67 games respectively.
Basdeo Persaud won 16 games for the winners while Terrence Damon, Rondell Charles and Ian Moore claimed 14 games each for Wild Bunch. Jermain Jackson of Wild Bunch and Edmund Sammy of International 6 were the lovebirds of the evening.
Wild Bunch came out on top in the second round which was played at Everest Sports Club pavilion with 77 games, edging out Canal 6 with 74 games and International 6 in the cellar with 68 games.
Ian Moore of Wild Bunch made 17 games with support from Jermain Jackson with 14 games while Scotty Ramroop and Sue Paul of Canal 6 made 15 games apiece and Martin Permaul of International 6 chalked up 17 games in a losing cause.
International 6 rebounded in the final leg and made a blistering 78 games ahead of Canal 6 with 72 games and Wild Bunch with 69 games, as Ron Callender and Manniram Shew made the maximum 18 games for the winners while Avie Persaud of Canal 6 made 15 games.
Jermain Jackson scored 17 games while Rondell Charles and Junior Ramchurejee made 15 and 14 games respectively for Wild Bunch, whose teammate Ian Moore was the lone lovebird.
At the end of the three games, Canal 6 had an aggregate of 220 games, ahead of Wild Bunch with 216 games and International 6 with 213 games.
MVP of Canal 6 was Basdeo Persaud with 40 games while Jermaine Jackson of Wild Bunch made 41 games and Martin Premaul took top honours for International 6 with 40 games and they all received designer caps and sports watches, compliments of the sponsor Somdat Jeet.
