Are Lindeners this very special?

If Lindeners, as the Prime Minister said, were paying these cheap rates for electricity usage since the 70s then it should have been changed in ’92, because that is what Guyanese voted for freely, fairly and transparently. Why should Lindeners pay $12 to $15 per kilowatt hour, while the rest of the grid at the lowest level in the commercial category pay $63.
Regardless of budget cuts this should have never been in the first place.
Aren’t all Guyanese equal, or are those in Linden very special Guyanese above and beyond all other Guyanese?
Government could simply cut the operating cost of GPL and let every Guyanese pay the same rate for electricity usage, even if it means rationing electricity for all.
Government must be reminded that there are more poor and depressed Guyanese all across Guyana, some of whom are downright dirt poor more than Lindeners, but they do not live in one community.
I feel so sad for my family residing in Georgetown, where they cannot press their clothes, nor warm their food in a microwave, or could afford to keep lights on at nights for some sort of protection from bandits entering their property as Lindeners do. It is sad to know Lindeners can play their music all they want while watching TV and enjoying air-conditioners in their homes to cool them off from heat, while my family and many other Guyanese all across Guyana can’t.
All this should have been fixed when the PPP/C came to power in ’92, and not be allowed to grow into the plague that it has now become.
All Guyanese are equals and must be treated as equals when it comes to water and electricity, Government’s health care and government-run schools.
