THREE former national youth basketball players will be featured in the visiting Brooklyn Bulldogs team to arrive in Guyana for the international basketball weekend extravaganza where four teams will showcase their basketball skills to the Guyanese basketball fans. Ronsard Humphrey, Warren Butts and Richard Mohandatt will this weekend make Berbice proud, when they appear on the court of the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall this time not as a Berbice team or representing the Golden Arrowhead, as they all did in the past
Just last year, Mohandatt made a valuable contribution to Guyana youth basketball team when they defeated French Guiana at the Inter-Guiana Games held here in Guyana.
That was after he had assisted President’s College to reach top place in the national youth basketball festival and made meaningful contributions to our youth basketball programme under Christopher Bowman’s leadership.
Butts had been a part of the national youth team in 1995, representing Guyana at the Junior Caribbean Championship in Los Angeles where the Guyana youth team played well, before he migrated to the United States of America where he continued his basketball career.
