A driver who apparently had too much for the road found himself before Vigilance Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin charged with driving under the influence. The prosecution’s story is that a police patrol unit observed Charran Singh driving along the Coldingen public road in an erratic manner. He was subsequently stopped and escorted to the Vigilance Police Station, where a breathalyzer test was administered which showed that his blood alcohol level was way over the legal limit. He was told of the offence, arrested and charged for driving under the influence.
Singh pleaded guilty to the charge, and was fined $8,000 with an alternative of one month’s imprisonment.
