REMANDED prisoner Kevin October was charged with unlawful wounding yesterday. Before Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, particulars of the offence said, last May 15, in the Camp Street, Georgetown prison, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded fellow inmate Adrian Bishop.
October pleaded not guilty and was sent on further remand to the penitentiary, until June 20.
Police Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, said the wounded man received medical attention and is now out of danger.
The prosecutor said, earlier this year, October was also refused bail on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.
Another prisoner, Ricardo Bailey was charged with assaulting Dellon Gordon, who is also in prison, on May 24.
He, too, pleaded not guilty, in the same court and shared a similar fate.
However, as Gordon is also charged and he was absent, Bailey will make another court appearance today.
