Bakewell renews sponsorship with RHTYSC

LAST Thursday, Bakewell renewed its sponsorship for the 13th consecutive year with the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) during a ceremony at company’s head office in Triumph, East Coast Demerara. The company became the official sponsor of the Club in 2000 when it came on board for its Under-17 and second division cricket, both of which have been successful, according to Hilbert Foster, RHTYSC’s secretary.
Foster in his remarks, said:  “As we renew this long-standing sponsorship, we wish to reassure you that more success would continue on and off the cricket field and that we would continue to carry Bakewell standard with pride and passion.”
Foster, along with the club’s patron,  Ms Beverley Harper, stated that they were thankful for the support Bakewell has given them. Harper mentioned that the Club lost over $3M recently from a break-in by thieves and Guyana Power and Light’s fluctuations had damaged some appliances.
Responding to the comments made by the RHTYSC representatives, Bakewell’s General Manager Rajindranauth Ganga said Bakewell is happy to continue with the sponsorship as the Club has proved to be one of the top clubs in the country.
Ganga disclosed that the Club and Bakewell are involved in an economic deal where they sell bread for Bakewell and the profit is used to help a Charity in Rose Hall and by extension Berbice. About $150 000 profit has been achieved per year.
