PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar and a high level delegation inspected construction work on the Devonshire Castle sea defence structure, at Essequibo Coast, last Saturday. Accompanied by Minister within the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Alli Baksh, officials of B.K. International, and the contractor for the European Union (EU) funded project, the Head of State walked along the entire stretch where the work is in progress on the new rip rap structure that is being built with tons of boulders.
Mr. Ramotar also did an inspection of the earthen embankment that is being built with tons of earth.
The presidential party looked, as well, at the Eliza sea defence structure where the same contractor is doing similar work.
Officials of the River and Sea Defence Department in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) were in company with the President, too.
