MINISTER within the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Alli Baksh has announced that the Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) Administration will get two more bulldozers and excavator machines to boost agriculture development. During his three-day visit to the Region last week, he said the machines will be sent to the Region during the month of April.
The Minister said the bulldozers will be used to grade and level access dams in the rice growing areas across the Coast and in the Cozier Scheme.
According to him, the Regional Administration, recently, received a bulldozer, which is currently grading and levelling dams so farmers can transport their paddy from fields to factories quickly after harvesting.
The bulldozer, which graded and levelled the main access dam in the Walton Hall area, brought joy to the farmers because the dam was in a very bad state and caused them to become worried as to how they would have transported their paddy from the backdam.
The Minister, during his visit, also inspected several dams that were graded and fields with paddy that was ripe and ready for harvesting.
He interacted, as well, with several farmers while inspecting the harvesting of paddy.
