Four teams record wins in the Ross and Bush KO Tourney

THE Ross and Bush senior male knockout tournament, sponsored by former referee Ainsworth Ross, now residing in the USA, kicked off last Saturday with a double-header at the No.5 Playfield. Resounding victories were recorded for New Amsterdam United and Rosignol United as Hardlanders of Ithaca and Manchester United were destroyed.
The first match got under way at 13:30hrs with N/A United immediately taking control of the match.
Hat-trick scorers Adrian Adams (19th, 28th, 56th) and Delroy Ferdinand (39th, 65th, 74th) led the way for the eventual victors with support from Leonardo Adams who scored in the 40th minute as they sailed to a comfortable 7-0 victory.
In the second match of the double-header, Rosignol United thrashed Manchester United 6-0. A hat-trick from Delroy Fraser who scored in the third, 20th and 74th minutes; a brace from Leslie Amsterdam (63rd, 80th) and a 48th-minute goal from Keiron Lynch were enough to sink Rosignol’s opposition.
The tournament continued the following day with another double-header at the same venue.
Cougars whipped Courtland United 8-0 with hat-tricks from Winston Benjamin and Kelvin Joseph, along with a goal each from Stephon DeFlorimonte and Alvin Reynolds, to secure the victory.
In the second match home team, Monedderlust were made to work hard for their 2-0 victory with goals in each half from Lon Johashen (30th) and Seon Watts (85th).
The tournament continues with semi-final matches at the No.5 Playfield on Saturday March 31 from 13:30hrs.
