Security guard on $75,000 bail for breaking and entering

A SECURITY guard, attached to Kalibur Security Service, yesterday appeared in court after he allegedly broke and entered the home of contractor, Fip Motilall, and stole items valued at $3.7M. Terry Mohan, 42, of 134 ‘A’ Field, Sophia, was not required to plead to the indictable charge when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Particulars of the charge stated that between March 9 and 10, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Motilall and stole US$10,000 in cash, jewellery, one microwave, a DVD player, one wrist watch, among other items all valued at $3.7M.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, objected to bail on the grounds that the accused is a flight risk and investigations are still ongoing. He said other persons are also likely to be charged.
Harvey said the accused was assigned to Motilall’s home to guard the premises. He said Mohan was seen on a surveillance camera, allegedly allowing three persons entry to Motilall’s premises at Section M Campbelville.
The accused complained of being in custody since Monday and being unable to take a bath. He claimed that he is feeling unwell because he was denied his medication.
The magistrate endorsed the defendant’s warrant, allowing him to see a medical doctor.

Later in the day, the defendant appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell and was granted his pre-trial liberty in the sum of $75,000.
Mohan will make another court appearance on March 30.
