FIRST and second division cricket clubs, who are competing in tournaments, played under the auspices of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA), will be back in action this weekend, as that entity continues to take advantage of the perfect weather conditions prevailing at present. Three matches will be contested in the Heroes Cup/Carib Beer/Friends of Cricket competition while a similar number of matches will be played in the Noble House Seafoods Limited-sponsored second division competition.
At the Police Sports Club ground, the home team will take on Guyana National Industrial Corporation, with Mario Nichols and Montgomery Chester calling play; Demerara Cricket Club will host Everest Cricket Club with Colin Alfred and Hortence Isaacs being the men in charge, while at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Transport Sports Club and GCC will do battle, with Nandkumar Shivsankar and Matthew Kissoon officiating.
In the second division competition, University of Guyana and Guyana Defence Force will meet at Gandhi Youth Organisation (Joseph Jeffrey and Dawchan Nagasar), GCC and Police clash at GNIC (Andrew Greaves and Edward Bowen) and Everest face Muslim Youth Organisation at MYO .
