THROUGH its Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony, and very hard working staff, the ante was raised for Mashramani 2012. From the Schoolchildren’s competitions in the various categories, to Chutney, Calypso(Junior, Adult) and Soca competitions, to over 30 Floats and thousands of Guyanese tramping on Mash Day, it was truly a wonderful occasion for those who witnessed this grand show. It was a million times better in 2012.
The government had pumped over $30 million into this year’s Mash, and deserves kudos for this support.
All this proves, is, that we as a people, as a nation and even as politicians, can accomplish great things, if only we use the same togetherness we did, to make Mash 2012, a great success. In fact, I trust that all the politicians were out Mashing, with their people.
There were no barriers, as no colour, race nor creed prevented the inter-mingling of the six races. They were all Guyanese, playing Mash!
The state media must be commended for a job well done with ‘ball by ball’ commentary by NCN, as a result, many more were able to witness the event!
So again, kudos to Minister Anthony and the government as a whole!
Kudos to Gov’t, Minister Anthony on raising the ante for Mashramani 2012.
