THE Guyana Relief Council (GRC) received a donation of US$5,000 from its sister organization, The Guyana Relief Council Florida Chapter (GRCFL), at its headquarters at Ruimveldt, Georgetown on Friday last. This US-based arm of the Guyana Relief Council is the brainchild of Mrs. Joan Sears, a past secretary of the GRC and the executive director of the GRCFL.
Mrs. Barbara Walrond accepted the donation from Mrs. Joan Sears on behalf of Executive Chairperson of the GRC, Mrs. Yvonne Hinds.
The Guyana Relief Council Florida Chapter was established some five years ago with the sole purpose of garnering funds from a supportive organization in the USA.
Since its establishment, the GRCFL has been making annual contributions towards the humanitarian work of the GRC.
The executive and members of the GRC expressed profound gratitude to the GRCFL for this latest magnanimous gesture.
