… Ross is new VP
FOLLOWING a successful Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last Sunday at Olympic House on High Street, Attorney-at-Law Keavon Bess replaced Fiona Harris as president of the Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF). Guyana’s most acclaimed bodybuilder Hugh Ross will serve as vice-president to Bess, after being elected to that position in his absence, as a fresh slate of executives replaced Harris and her slate, with regard to the administration of the sport locally.
Regional powerlifting champion Randolph ‘The Accomplisher’ Morgan and Canada-based Guyanese Eustace Abraham were elected as assistant secretary/treasurer and one of six committee members who will assist Bess in the management of bodybuilding in Guyana.
Following the presentation of her report as well as that of her treasurer, along with the elections of Bess as the new head of the GABBFF, Harris, together with former president Frank Tucker (who performed the duties of Returning Officer), pledged their continued support to the GABBFF.
The new committee will schedule their first meeting shortly to map out their programme for the year, using as a guide the programme which was put together by the previous administration, with the Flex Night Inc. being one of the programmes returning to the local bodybuilding stage.
The new executives with their portfolios in brackets are: Keavon Bess (President), Hugh Ross (Vice-president), Videsh Sookram (General Secretary), Jamie McDonald (Treasurer), Alison Yhap (Organising Secretary) and Morgan (Assistant Secretary/Treasurer).
The six Committee Members are: Eustace Abraham, Dwayne De Lima, Merissa Oscar, Capt. Mark Sinclair, Aubrey Henry and Nandram Bhagwandin.
