THIRTY-FOUR (34) patients of the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH) received gifts on Christmas Day, compliments of the hospital’s administration. The gifts were distributed by Mr. Julius Faerber, Chairman of Region Three, Essequibo Islands/West Demerara. He was accompanied by Assistant Hospital Administrator Dev Hira, and Regional Information Officer, Jaidev Dudhnath.
Among the recipients of gifts were Simone Ramjattan of West Meeten–Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara, who delivered a baby girl at 00:18 hr on Christmas Day, and Fareeza Bacchus of La Grange, West Bank Demerara, who delivered a baby boy at 04:04 hrs on that same day.
According to Nurse Rhonda Fredericks, in charge of the maternity ward of the WDRH, the two Christmas babies and their mothers are doing fine. She also informed that two other patients were expected to give birth later that morning.
