President brings Christmas cheer to children at GPHC

PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar and First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar spent the early part of their Christmas day distributing gifts to children in the Paediatric Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital. The presentation of gifts to more than a dozen children by His Excellency was more than enough to bring smiles to the faces, and, in a few cases, tears to eyes of both the children and parents. President Ramotar commended the staff of the unit for their efforts in diligently executing their duties which bring comfort to the children.
President Ramotar, in an invited comment, said, “It is the least we can do…it gives me great pleasure to bring cheer to the children.
Meanwhile, in his continuing efforts to spread Christmas cheer, President Ramotar on Saturday joined the Cane Grove Reunion Group in distributing hampers to the elderly and presents to children from the East Coast Demerara village.
In like manner, First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar has been busy this Christmas season visiting various institutions as part of her efforts to spread the Christmas spirit to the less fortunate. In her most recent visit to the Palms, the First Lady had the opportunity to comfort the elderly. (GINA)
