Police investigating two more gun robberies

BUSINESSMAN Lester Delon was shot and robbed Tuesday night in Freeman Street, East La Penitence, Georgetown. Police reported that it happened about 20:10 hrs as the 46-year-old victim was walking on his way home.
He started to run on being attacked but his attacker discharged a round which struck him on his right foot, causing him to fall and the gunman took away his jewellery and escaped.
Delon was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where he was treated and sent away.
Another armed robbery occurred at about 08:30 hrs, on Wednesday, at the S&K Lumber Yard and General Store, Blossom Scheme, Enmore South, East Coast Demerara.
Police investigations revealed that the owner Sohdro Kuldip, 63, her daughter Kaminne Latchman, 21, son-in-law, Amar Lall and employee, Chandroutie Deonarine, 44, of Mon Repos, were in the business place when two armed men entered and held them at gunpoint.
The robbers put them to lie on the ground and took away jewellery, G$660,000 and US$5,000 before escaping in a waiting motor vehicle.
In the process, Latchman and Lall were assaulted about their bodies and had to receive medical treatment.
Police are still investigating both robberies.
