A STUDENT of the Government Technical Institute (GTI) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on another. Eighteen-year-old Keron Hinds (no address given) pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on December 9, he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on Althea Dixit.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was trying to make peace between two other students who were fighting and Hinds told her to mind her own business.
The prosecutor said the defendant cuffed the virtual complainant several times causing injuries.
Hinds was put on $40,000 bail until January 9, 2012.
